While my son has not completed the full one year program, the change in my son is one that wouldn't have happened on his own. The staff is to be commended for their commitment to helping others like themselves who need this treatment. Family weekend changed everything about how I thought about addiction. I wish I could give each facilitator a hug and thank them for helping me see things about addiction I hadn't known before, and for their kindness toward the families present. The focus on the 12 Step program helps build a foundation needed for a strong mind and mindfulness. Thank you, Reprieve staff.

Staff that actually cares about the patients. Affiliated with Indian Rivers Mental Health. Outside of the fact that the program is only 28 days, (I think it should be longer) I don't feel it has any weaknesses. First of all, rehab only works for those who want it to. That being said, any woman sincere about her recovery, would truly benefit from AWP and what their staff has to offer. The groups are small enough that one on one counseling is given to each patient, as well as the group sessions. I left there with a much higher feeling of self-worth, as well as confidence in my ability to overcome my addictions.

They have group meetings and give you the basic skills called "tools" that you have to apply in your life. Its easier to be abstinence in a controlled environment but when you leave there coming back to the real world, there is where the dangers lie and you have to use those tools. You have to be ready to change but this has to be done for you, not your child, loved ones etc. It will not work if its not for you....when you get to THAT place in your life it goes like this WE ARE HERE BECAUSE THERE IS NO REFUGE FINALLY FROM OURSELVES, UNTIL A PERSON SHARES THEIR SECRETS, THEY HAVE NO SAFETY FROM THEM. AND BEGIN TO GROW, NOT AS THE GIANT OF OUR DREAMS OR THE DWARFS OF OUR FEARS, BUT AS A PERSON, A PART OF A WHOLE. BY THIS WE CAN TAKE ROOT AND GROW. THEN WE CAN LIVE.
