I finally got sober at Turning Point after several previously failed treatment attempts at 28-days programs. Turning Point afforded me the opportunity to begin moving forward in my life with things like work and school while in a residential program. It's a program specifically for young guys, so I met a lot of cool people, and had a blast with the various recreational events. I would highly recommend Turning Point for any young man looking for help.

Aware Recovery Care In-Home Addiction Treatment in Connecticut

Aware Recovery Care has a diverse group of people that work there as a team, it also has may spinning wheels that all come together to help each client individually. No client is has the same treatment, each client is different, and therefore this program is catered to them, and their families. The Aware program is a 52 week program where we as a team work with the client, and their families, because we know addiction not only effects the client, but the entire house hold. We work around out clients schedule, so they are able to work, and not lose time from their jobs. Also we as a team will help introduce clients, and families to a support system of clean and sober people, so when we do walk away, our clients, and their families have a support system. There is a entire network of people in recovery that people just aren't aware of, not just NA, or AA. Not every client is comfortable with NA, or AA, so we find something for everyone, someone, or something that they connect to, or relate to. There are many paths to recovery, and we explore all paths in order to help our clients, and families. Private pay, and Anthem are paying methods at this time, so we are unable to reach all the people in need of our services. Addiction has touched so many of us, and sometimes people feel as though they are being judged, but at Aware Recovery Care, there is no judgment.

About Connecticut

Connecticut, located in the northeastern part of the country, is a small but vibrant state with a population of approximately 3.6 million people1. Known as the “Constitution State,” Connecticut holds a rich history dating back to the colonial era. It boasts a diverse geography, featuring a mix of coastal plains, rolling hills, and charming small towns. The state’s proximity to major metropolitan areas like New York City and Boston contributes to its dynamic and cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Connecticut is renowned for its exceptional educational institutions, including prestigious universities such as Yale and Wesleyan. The state’s commitment to education is further reflected in its high literacy rates and intellectual pursuits. Additionally, Connecticut offers a thriving arts and cultural scene, with renowned museums, theaters, and music venues throughout the state.

Alcohol Misuse and Addiction in Connecticut

Alcohol addiction is a significant issue in Connecticut, affecting individuals and communities across the state. According to the Center for Prevention, Evaluation, and Statistics, Connecticut ranks as the 4th highest state in the U.S. for current alcohol use, with a prevalence rate of 62.1%.2 This indicates a significant number of individuals in the state engaging in alcohol consumption. Additionally, in 2017, Connecticut held the unfortunate distinction of being the highest-ranking state in the country for alcohol-impaired driving fatalities.2

Between 2017 and 2019, Connecticut had an annual average prevalence of 6.3% or approximately 194,000 residents affected by past-year alcohol use disorder.3 This rate is higher than the national average of 5.3%.3 These figures underscore the significant impact of alcohol addiction in the state, emphasizing the importance of accessible and effective treatment options to support those in need and promote recovery.

Finding Alcohol Addiction Treatment in Connecticut

Connecticut offers a range of alcohol addiction treatment options to cater to individuals’ diverse needs. These options include detoxification (detox), inpatient treatment, and outpatient programs, each serving different stages and intensities of care.

  • Detox: Detoxification is often the initial step in alcohol addiction treatment. It involves removing alcohol from the body while managing withdrawal symptoms under medical supervision. Detox programs provide a safe and supportive environment to help individuals safely navigate the early stages of recovery.
  • Inpatient Treatment: Inpatient or residential treatment programs require individuals to reside at a treatment facility for a specific duration, typically ranging from 30 to 90 days. These programs offer a structured and immersive environment where individuals receive round-the-clock care, counseling, behavioral therapies, and support from a multidisciplinary team. Inpatient treatment provides intensive intervention and is suitable for individuals with severe addiction or those requiring a higher level of supervision.
  • Outpatient Programs: Outpatient treatment programs allow individuals to live at home while attending scheduled therapy sessions and support groups at a treatment center. These programs offer flexibility and can be tailored to accommodate work, school, or family commitments. Outpatient programs provide counseling, therapy, education, and support, enabling individuals to address their addiction while maintaining their daily routines.

Within these treatment levels, various therapies and specialized programs are available, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, group therapy, family therapy, and holistic approaches like art therapy or mindfulness practices. These interventions aim to address the underlying causes of addiction, develop coping skills, and support long-term recovery.

Furthermore, individuals seeking a more luxurious or private treatment experience can explore options like luxury rehabs. These facilities provide upscale accommodations, additional amenities, and personalized services to enhance comfort during treatment. Private rehabs, on the other hand, offer exclusive and confidential treatment settings where individuals can receive individualized care and personalized treatment plans.

To find local rehab options in Connecticut, individuals can use our rehab locator tool which provides a comprehensive directory of treatment facilities in their area. This tool helps individuals connect with nearby rehab centers that align with their specific needs, preferences, and financial considerations, ensuring they can access the appropriate treatment and support.

How Much Does Alcohol Rehab Cost?

Insurance coverage for alcohol addiction treatment in Connecticut is typically available, and it can help alleviate the financial burden associated with seeking professional help. Most insurance plans, including private health insurance and employer-provided plans, offer coverage for substance abuse treatment, including alcohol addiction. To utilize insurance for treatment, individuals should contact their insurance provider to understand the specifics of their coverage, such as the types of treatment (inpatient, outpatient, etc.) covered, the duration of coverage, and any out-of-pocket expenses or copayments they may be responsible for.

For those without insurance coverage, there are still options available, such as state-funded treatment centers. These centers receive funding from the state government and provide services to individuals who are unable to afford private treatment. State-funded treatment centers may offer various levels of care, including detox, inpatient, and outpatient programs. Eligibility and availability may vary, so it is advisable to contact the specific treatment center or consult with local resources to explore these options further.

How Long is Alcohol Rehab?

When seeking alcohol addiction treatment in Connecticut, individuals have options regarding the duration of their stay. The most common durations are typically 30 days, 60 days, or 90 days, although other lengths may be available depending on the specific facility or program.

The length of stay for treatment depends on several factors, including the individual’s unique treatment needs, the severity of the addiction, and the recommendations of the treatment professionals.
