I have achieved multiple years of sobriety and started my journey in Canaan Connecticut. While there I was given tools to live a sober life. I have a debt of gratitude to Mountainside!
High Watch Recovery Center is a fantastic facility all-around! I cannot say enough about the quality of the campus, the staff, and the program overall. I spent 90+ days there and have never felt better. From admissions to the therapists to the general staff - there is so much support and love. More importantly - I developed a very solid network with other guests during my stay - friendships that are still going strong. High Watch also ensures that a connection to the program is maintained through Saturday nigh AA-meetings (open to the public), an alumni Facebook page, and a weekly Transitions programs aimed at helping recently discharged guests with their transition back to general life. There is a ton of love at High Watch - and I can honestly say it was a life-changing experience. Admissions worked diligently and patiently with me - and, for this, I have the utmost respect for the facility. The most important part of the program is that it is 12-step based and their is a great emphasis for guests to work with a step-coach in the journey toward recovery. There are numerous electives and meetings to attend as well. You are kept busy - and this structure has the right balance of program and "free-time" (generally used to connect with other guests). I had the privilege of participating in the Extended Guest program which granted me responsibilities and helped me rebuild my confidence and work on my personal recovery. Other rehab facilities cannot compare. If you are serious about recovery - High Watch Recovery Center is the place for you. If you put in the work and effort - there is plenty of support and love to guide you. PS - The food is unbelievable.
Sending my son here after he completed a 30-day inpatient program was worth every penny. The staff was very welcoming, and they consistently treated my son and I with respect. In fact, many of the staff members at Westport House today are part of his sober network. My son\'s case manager communicated with me regularly over the course of his stay. In the first phase of the program, all meals were provided by the house. He developed a strong relationship with his therapist who he has today. The program supported his involvement in AA, and they helped guide my family in being healthy supports to his recovery. The second phase allowed my son to show consistency in his new way of life and establish independence. He was able to resume his education, get a part-time job (which he now has full-time), and take control of his spending. His case manager there helped him budget his money and learn how to hold himself accountable. The residents he lived with are some of his best friends today, and he continues to be actively involved in his recovery. With the help of Westport House, my son was able to find his true self and transform into the sober young man he is today, and for that I am eternally grateful.
