Positive support, structure, effective communication, see clients as individuals, able and willing to adapt schedules and support accordingly. Healthy, clean living environment. Focus on addiction recovery rather than primary mental health issues. Young male demographic provided a positive recovery environment. It is Expensive. Communication between staff members when dealing with an issue that extends over shift changes and/or staff hierarchy can be inefficient. Overall very positive experience. Staff always made time to discuss any concerns. Phone calls and emails always returned promptly. Monthly meetings were always kept - relevant staff were available and well informed. Was difficult sometimes to follow staff advice on how long our qualifier needed to stay because of financial concerns but their judgement proved to be sound. Qualifier is still clean and still working his program 9 months after leaving.
I was at T.G from March to July of 2013....I didn't mind the work part of "work" program.....I was In the kitchen 5 or 6 days a week for 6-8 hours a shift.....didn't mind at all, AND besides, it was very nice to say that while I was the lead cook there, our food was BETTER than at KENT FALLS.....
My son spent a year at Turnbridge (Feb. 2017-'18) and is now living in their newly-opened sober living house. Very hard to put into words just how I feel about Turnbridge. When your child is approaching death's doorstep and you put him in the hands of strangers it is an extremely scary moment. You read the reviews, speak to Admissions, try and speak around to get feedback about Turnbridge...you do what you can in a short amount of time to get as much info as possible. Ultimately, it is a crap-shoot whether things will turn out well for your child. But, I must tell you it did not take long to realize that Turnbridge was the real deal. As a parent, you are never in the dark about how your child is doing. Weekly discussions with Turnbridge staff occur throughout your child's stay...and if you need immediate assistance someone is always available to address whatever question or issue you have. And, the parent and family programs, support groups, educational workshops, and meetings are frequent and on-going throughout your child's stay...you are NEVER in the dark about anything pertaining to your child's progress and you are always supported as a parent or family member. The 3 phase healing approach that Turnbridge follows allows for the perfect reintegration process that is required for your child to heal, find sobriety, learn skills, gain confidence, and ultimately find a life of independence and wellness. Throughout my son's stay he frequently would tell me how easy and well he related to both Turnbridge staff and fellow clients...how much insight and guidance he would regularly gain from them. It is why he has been successful in his path to wellness...because of the way Turnbridge is he wanted to be there. How very important it is for any treatment program to create the atmosphere where the client feels secure and wants to be a part of it. It is the only way for one to achieve success. Turnbridge is so much more than an excellent addiction treatment program...it is a collection of truly unbelievable human beings whose life commitment is to help and heal others. It never appears like it is a job that they are doing...it really all seems like it is their life mission to be doing what they're doing. Amazing!
