I can never say enough to praise and thank OPR for all the caring and support I received from the entire staff and amazing community I was blessed to be a part of. OPR CARES & it shows! Highly recommend, my life has improved in so many ways and OPR has given me hope and lasting friendships. I was reminded of how much fun sobriety can be! Beach trips, movies, workouts @ a beautiful gym, bowling, zoo trips and just grilling by the pool, potluck meals with the community. AAA+++
This was my first time in treatment and I had no idea what to expect. Florida House made me feel welcomed, comfortable, and accepted. It also made me see the need for a complete, all-inclusive change of my thinking, behaviors, and spiritual foundation. I was introduced to the 12 steps and the importance of finding a relationship with God. I also learned about the vast character defects and personal issues that lead to my drug abuse. They gave me everything I needed to begin my path in recovery, and because I was willing I was able to grasp the chance. Welcoming environment. At the same time, forces you to be willing to change.
I am grateful to have found Recovery First, I am 48 days sober. My experience in detox was somewhat confusing and it felt like there was a great deal of miscommunication through admissions and administratively. The techs and the nursing staff were very good. The stay at the residential location was very positive. The group sessions, therapists and techs were phenomenal. The on-site meetings were captivating and the outside vendors that were brought in for art, music, nutrition and yoga were also exceptional. I appreciated the structure and feeling entirely safe. Our rooms/apartments were well stocked with everything we needed and the staff was prompt to attend to all of our reasonable requests. There was always an employee/tech/therapist available. Many of the techs were in recovery and had amazing insight and experience to share. The staff is the strongest strength. Everyone that I encounter there was caring and showed concern for my well-being. The accommodations in the residential facility that I attended were very comfortable and had all of the necessary comforts of home. The alumni benefits appear to be exceptional And my peers have confirmed this. The nursing staff at the residential community where I primarily interacted with the nurse in comparison to detox, was amazing! The family program was extremely beneficial to my family and understanding addiction from a scientific and emotional aspect. They found it to be enlightening and it created much stronger acceptance. The community and the commitment to the community via the staffs active listening in addressing areas of daily living concerns (housing needs) to the dynamics of living closely with peers. The admissions process was confusing and unclear as to expectations, options, explanations to family members. This began with the call center and admission process. I experienced ongoing difficulty with medical and work related Insurance that appeared to due to miscommunication. I am continuing to work through this. More clear expectations set by the call center would have made my stay MUCH more comfortable. At times it appeared that they were understaffed and that impacted the clients. The time that I spent with other medical staff such as the ARNP and MD/Psychiatrist seemed to strictly relate to my medications and were extremely brief, I did not feel that I learned much during those visits.
