Treatment Philosophy
The Haven Detox in Florida, founded 10 years ago, is known as one of the top medical rehab centers in the country.

The treatment center has a strong emphasis on overall mental health and evidence-based innovative options that aren't available at other treatment centers. For example, NAD+ IV therapy is used to re-regulate the brain and GeneSight testing is used to find the most effective medications based on genetics instead of guesswork. Patients are usually able to get in same-day and have options for both short-term and long-term detox and residential programs for alcohol and all drugs, including opioids. There is a strong emphasis on long-term relapse prevention, including outpatient treatment options.

This place has seriously become family to me. I never thought I could become what I am today until I met everyone that worked here. The facility is absolutely amazing. Very very clean .... always very very clean.... the food is phenomenal thanks to the wonderful cooks. My life was seriously headed straight for death but this team worked a miracle and saved me. The entire staff is great and the way they all truly care as opposed to them just doing the job is extraordinary. I was able to fully hand myself over and trust where I was to help me.

Where Can I Find Medical Detox Centers in Jacksonville, Florida?

Depending on how strongly you are addicted and how high your consumption has been, the way your body reacts to alcohol withdrawal can vary dramatically. Symptoms range from quite mild to life threatening. Some of the symptoms can include irritability, anxiety, agitation, high blood pressure, raised heart rate, seizures, and delirium tremens, and symptoms can be fatal.2

Because of this, facing withdrawals without assistance can be very dangerous. In a medical detox center, patients are given medical treatment to deal with the intense symptoms of withdrawals as well as the health and safety risks they pose. In a medical detox facility physicians are available at all hours.3 Out of the 668 facilities in Florida, 48 are hospital inpatient facilities that provide medical detox.1

You can find detox facilities near Jacksonville, Florida either by using a site like detox.net or the SAMHSA treatment locator.

Does My Insurance Cover Treatment in Jacksonville, Florida?

While there are many insurance companies that do cover substance abuse treatment, not all plans cover it. To know if you are covered you will need to check with your provider. Some popular providers with plans that cover it include:

State-Funded Insurance (i.e. Medicaid)

About 72 million Americans are on Medicaid.4 This federal healthcare coverage program is made available to adults with low income, their children, people suffering from certain disabilities, and the elderly. Despite being partially funded by the federal government, each state administers Medicaid programs separately.4

Even if you have been turned down for Medicaid in the past and your financial circumstances are roughly the same, you may be eligible if you applied before the Affordable Care Act was passed. After it was passed the income and asset requirements were loosened to allow more people in. While not all facilities accept it, there are 254 facilities that accept it in Florida, or 38 percent of the facilities in the state.1
