Wide array of treatment options, some very good staff and counselors. The kitchen staff was very accommodating to my special dietary needs. They were helpful in setting up aftercare and have been good in following up with myself and family. Good techs and counselors offered a variety of treatment options to explore. Facility felt like being in a nursing home/hospital
My Therapist Karah and the family therapist Ray were very helpful. I've been here 3 times now and I had a family session with Ray to work out issues with my family and although he's not my assigned therapist, he would still make time to meet with me once a week because he was helping me to process my family issues. It really showed that he cared because he was available for me. Dr. Vega was great because she's incredibly smart and really knows what she's talking about. She's also very fast and effective with her job as a psychiatrist. I really enjoyed the process groups that were like group therapy because I enjoyed hearing people speak about the same things I was going through. It's a really clean and well maintained facility and it felt similar to what I would imagine a wellness retreat would be like because I'm from Virginia where it's cold and it was so nice to have a distance between me and my regular life. It felt good to have a safe space to work on myself. I feel much more prepared to go back to my regular life and hearing people say that they see such a change in me is very reaffirming. I would definitely recommend River Oaks!
