Banyan treatment center is one of the most high-end treatment programs I've ever been to. The staff members are great and really care about the people that come thru their program.
I had an amazing experience a RO. The classroom-style approach where we had groups and learned about our addiction, why we were the way we were, and how to develop good skills was very helpful to my recovery. I found this classroom/group therapy type approach more helpful than other treatment experiences I had been too, as I am kind of a student at heart. My counselor pushed me, and I needed that. The doctor really evaluated me and put me on the right meds which worked for the first time in my life. I had been trying to get on the right meds for twenty years. Most clients there were either in their 20s or over 50, and were from out of state from Mid-Atlantic regions or New Jersey, which surprised me. The campus was beautiful and it was nice to walk around under the Spanish moss. There is a lot of freedom during down time and the TAs use their discretion appropriately. The rooms were like nice hotels, which helped, as I needed to get my sleep situated after running for so long. Food was eh, but if you are concerned about how the food was, you might not be ready for recovery, just sayin'. Still sober, thankfully, ODAAT, I liked that no ideas were pushed on me and I found my own path. Something definitely worked for me there.
