I was treated like a prisoner and if I disobeyed, they threatened to call my probation officer and given punishments like scrubbing floors with a toothbrush wearing only underwear and ankle shackles. I was given shoes and told residents that came from jail and under court order, go barefoot always so they don’t think to escape. One counselor was so evil and sadist

On August 8 I called bridge house asking about my place on the waiting list . After answering their questions as honest as possible , with an emphasis on my last use of thendrug heroin , I was told to arrive that Friday -August 9. Following a 4 hour drive ( thanks mom and dad ) and upon arrival I was informed my last usage was too close to the time I was to be admitted . This caused confusion because it was never mentioned during the half dozen telephone conversations I had with the admission office . I was told to report to a detox clinic where Bridge house had graciously gotten me a bed . After I arrived at the detox clinic I was denied entry into the clinic due to the fact I was not displaying withdrawl symptoms ( I had been clean off heroin for a couple weeks and had relapsed but only using a handful of times prior to my arrival to New Orleans ). I was told that I would be going back to bridge house and to wait in the lobby for a bridge house van- at some point in the lobby this was reaffirmed by a bridge house employ )afer a two hour wait i decided to call bridge house . I was told by some top employ that i would not be allowed to come into bridge house until next Tuesday . This is after my ride had departed and made the 4 hour trip back home . I explained the situation to a different employ and how I had no where to go , no money, no transportation . That employ told me he would find me a shelter to stay in but never phoned back and stopped answering his phone. I spent that night on the streets in NOLA , was harassed and had my life threatened . It would appear I was in a safe part of town and then a block later a dangerous part . Bridge house proved to be an unorganized and heartless facility . They demonstrated a lack of communication with their clients and nearly cost me my life

Bridge house claimed to have a gym but I never seen a gym when I was there. Most of the treatment was done through 12 step and meetings.
