About Northern Light Addiction Care

Addiction can be a terrible thing. It can potentially endanger your life, affect your loved ones, imperil your job and your future. And certainly, it’s a disease that usually can’t be conquered alone. Depending on the type and level of addiction, in-patient treatment may be necessary, along with a long-term plan for recovery. The Mercy Recovery Center offers the largest substance abuse treatment center in Maine for adults that treat the entire spectrum of substance abuse, from alcoholism to drug addiction – one step at a time…one day at a time…one person at a time.

Effective treatment center. Good assortment of care providers assure that you'll find a good match for your needs. Some caregivers were a poor match for my needs.

The best thing about Mercy is that SOME of the staff are very helpful, (while others have no idea what they're doing.) They do make it easy to treat a substance abuse issue simultaneously with other mental health issues and, (depending on WHO you work with,) the staff can be very effective at creating and assisting you to complete your treatment plans. More than half of the staff, either doesn't know how to do their job or they try to do a job that they're not qualified for. They will kick you out randomly, for little to no reason at all. If you relapse, instead of helping you when you need it, they will discharge you. Most of the staff are rude, but the worst thing about this place is that they closed down so they don't offer services anymore, such as prescriptions (that I need,) although they did help refer me to a new doctor. This place is closed down now, so inorder to get assistance with your substance abuse issue, you will have to travel far away to participate in an in-patient or out-patient rehab facility, OR you'll have to pay out the A*s for a private doctor.

Group therapy, good therapists, a lot of activities to do, able to spend time outside and see the city. No internet connection, not a very nice facility, not much to choose from for meals. The staff was really nice and non judgmental, diverse staff. Staff members were all experienced and offered good treatment.
