Before I came here, I had attended to Four different treatment places. All were 12 step programs and it was easier for me to comprehend. But I needed more of a Spirituality type of Treatment. Also having PTSD, learning to gain Trust in people was always hard. I know I'll always hard for me. I know I'll always have that to over come, yet I'm more open to talk to people here and it's OK. Being raised on the Reservation it was always difficult to be around other races and ethnicities. After I opened up it was easier and I found myself Happy again. I became So Angry in my past (addiction included). Found myself Happy One day here and I WAS SO ANGRY! My counselor and case-manager Assured me that it was OK to be happy again. I was able to have other feelings other than Anger! Most of my usage was buried feelings and being told daily or reminded I'm Native so I'll always be an Alcoholic. But NO I'M ME! I may have Drank and used Meth in my past; it'll be a part of my Story nevertheless IT IS NOT ME! I Thank my aunt daily in my prayers that she helped me find Serenity Point Recovery! Without the Staff and the Residents here, I wouldn't have Faith and Hope I stood a chance to take it minute by minute or day by day to stay sober. Never had that since I can remember. I am so Thankful for this place. I found out I am AMY and that's a great person, people like to be around. Also I am not a Failure as a Mother. I am thankful for the Support my family has gave me and they didn't give up on me; They patience was running out! But they are still here for me. I am Grateful for Serenity Point Recovery Staff because they are so supportive that I feel at home here, but its Time for me to go Home and use the tools they helped me learn to LIVE MY LIFE!.
Plenty of food and candy, able to talk on phone, counselors help with setup for getting out, small facility Counselors don't spend any time with family and not even a daily visit with patient, patients rarely get to go outside, no literature available to read They'll only let you stay 60 days if you have medicaid, 90 days are reserved for prison exits... seems dumb since most withdrawals take 60 days and they have no detox program.
Their website layout is good and easy to use. The specific care they dedicate to women is wonderful. I can't think of any weaknesses. It's a great facility. My sister admitted she had a problem not too long ago and Sacred Heart was recommended to us and we are so glad it was. They treated her with kindness and understanding. She came out with such a strong will to stay on the right track. We are so thankful for Sacred Heart.
