Close to home, female only. In need of many things such as exercise activities, healing, one on one counseling etc. They teach you just how to live a normal daily routine while attending only one AA meeting a day, and if your lucky one NA meeting a month.
When I came to SPR I thought I knew everything about addiction and just needed to get out of the real world or a break from life, but with an open- mind and some willingness I got so much more. My counselor Amanda C. really helped me open up and get down to the core of my problems. Process group was always amazing, and the people here in the class helped me think outside the box. AA/NA was my favorite class here at SPR. I enjoyed having a new topic to talk about everyday. Not getting judged by my peers and having people to relate to has been by far the best part of my stay here. I've learned to accept the past here and be hopeful for the future. I've learned what my triggers are and how to cope with them out in the real world. Acceptance is the key to success for me. Without acceptance I wouldn't have been able to move forward with my recovery. I am forever grateful for everything Serenity Point has done for me, especially the staff and clients. Without the classes, structure, and people I wouldn't have been able to change into the beautiful person I have become.
