It was a GREAT PLACE, I GOT CLEAN,AND LEARNED A LOT ABOUT MY SELF, THE YOGA GIRL HAD A ORTHODOX WAY OF TEACHING AND SHE WAS THE ONLY STAFF MEMBER THAT SHOWED ME IN SEVERALWAYS THAT SHE HAD A PROBOLEM WITH ME...MY LIFE IS MUCH BETTER.

After 30 days at OTC I was leaving feeling apprized and well equipped with the a new understanding of my own addiction and how to successfully maintain my recovery. As for my personal experience with my therapist and overall treatment I was elated. You can tell which staff and therapist really care about what they do for the patients. But it’s also important to be keep in mind “you” are just impactful to your peers as they are to you. You get what you put in. Stonewater Adolescent Recovery Center
The setting is a home type setting which adolescents are more receptive to in treatment. There is a mixture of staff who are in recovery and those who have not personally dealt with addiction issues, so the perspectives of all staff make this a great place for adolescents. There is a lake, a weight room/gym, basketball, volleyball, equine roundpin (equine therapy in the near future to start), meals prepared by an executive chef which are decided upon by a registered dietitian, and the schedule is nicely put together. The boys have plenty of time for schoolwork, reading, leisure activities, and still maintain their program at Stonewater. It is a new facility so there are still changes being made to the employee schedule, policies, etc. but that is to be expected. Communication between staff needs to improve a great deal to help things flow easier from day to day. This is a great facility/program from what I know. The employees are truly dedicated to helping these boys get to a place in their life where the addiction is a memory rather than a struggle. The Nurses, Clinical Assistants, counselors/therapists, and everyone involved want the best for everyone who comes thru their doors. If we can positively affect the patient long term, then we have also positively affected the family and friends of that patient long term, and hopefully broken an unforgiving cycle of addiction
