I just underwent a nearly life threatening experience at Shepherd Hill in Newark, Ohio. I went there having tried to taper off suboxone for several months. I had gotten down to a sixth of an 8mg strip per day. Upon arrival I was immediately pitched a monitored taper of the same. However they prescribed two full strips per day. Their reply to my disbelief was something along the lines of " are you willing to take direction?" Â I consented but said it was too much, I mean 12 times the dosage I was taking off the street!? They reduced it to 1 1/2 per day or 9x my usual dosage. My first dosage and I was feeling real good. As much as I liked it, it wasn't what I came for. I ended up being lambasted about erratic behavior and opted to leave. I had not had a bowell movement for the two weeks I was there and for a week after I left. They were condemning and hurtful. I followed all directions. The worst part was that after increasing my dosage, they refused to give me enough to taper back down so that I now faced withdrawal from a much higher dose. Needless to say it was awful. Please help to ensure no one else has to endure such gross negligence.
