    Family support is essential to the success of clients of Therápia. The disease of addiction affects all members of the family. As a result, it is vitally important to have all relevant family members involved in their own process of individual recovery.
  • Experiential therapy

    Experiential therapy at Therápia includes equine therapy, hiking, snowshoeing, nature walks, fishing, ropes courses, spiritual work, sweat lodge, meditation, and yoga. Clients also enjoy sports, bowling, movies, and museums.

Meet the Staff

  • Arden Smith, SUDC, MBA
    Arden Smith, SUDC, MBAProgram Director
    Arden is a Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor with more than 17 years in the addiction and mental health treatment industry. He has a great passion for this field and a strong desire to help people suffering with the disease of addiction and their family members. As part of his experience in this field, he has worked in secure-care, residential, and out-patient environments with both the adolescent and adult populations. Arden has an MBA in Healthcare Management. He has spent the last several years in administrative and management positions including residential director and director of programs ranging from severe psychiatric and mental health facilities to substance abuse treatment facilities. He also served as the chair of the residential best practice committee of a large corporation and helped develop and implement best practice standards for several residential programs.

    Ben Harris, SUDCExecutive Director
    Ben began working in substance abuse treatment in 1987. During the past 25 years, he has worked in in-patient, residential, wilderness, intensive out-patient, and out-patient adolescent and adult programs. He has spent the majority of those years in management positions including executive director and national director responsible for the safe and effective operations of several programs. He has also served as president of the Utah Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors and on national committees with NAADAC and ICRC.
