Sean Ponce, MDDirector of Chemical DependencyDr. Ponce attended Brigham Young University and went on to medical school at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland. He completed one year of residency in Spokane, Washington and then completed a Family Medicine residency in Salt Lake City. Dr. Ponce specializes in the treatment of addiction and is particularly skilled with patients who are dually diagnosed with both mental health and addictive issues. He is a past President of the Utah State Chapter of the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Addiction Medicine.- Sajid Faizi, PhD, MDMedical DirectorDr. Faizi comes to SLBH with a myriad of both direct care and hospital leadership experience in the behavioral health industry. Dr. Faizi received his professional training at Rawalpindi Medical College in Pakistan and completed his residency in psychiatry at the University of Utah. He worked for several years as a psychiatrist throughout the Wasatch Front. He is a member of numerous professional associations and is very active in the Salt Lake City community.
