While there I worked on the reasons I drank and did drugs. Prior to going there, I had no idea what core beliefs were. I thought they were going to teach me how not to drink and drug - when in actuality they taught me why I did
I lost control of my life after the death of my daughter, and would seek anything to numb it. This IS the best treatment I could have ever expected. I now go there monthly to talk to the patients about the new life they will have if they beat this disease. Life is so good now. This is a grade A facility.
I was put here by a drug court program, I have celiac disease and they went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure my nutritional requirements were met. They really made sure that I was eating what I was supposed to, and eating well. I was not supposed to be there, of course no one would believe that. It's very true though. I was treated very respectfully, which was a relief considering the fact that I was screwed by the system. The nurse went over my rights. She also had a homeless man there who had no clothes of his own and brought him her husband's clothes. Everyone there is so caring. I had a great experience, and I would think that I would say the opposite considering the fact that I SHOULD NOT have been in that position. It was not their fault, it was the county i was in who decided. But they treated me with nothing but respect and genuine compassion. I see reviews about not having enough family time. I saw how Boxwood (not sure I spelled it right but know it was one of the two facilities that I would be sent to) operated and they were able to have visitors. But had it explained to me why they thought it would be a negative thing. I saw the pros and cons of both. But really feel this facility was looking out for me and my well being. I have no negative things to say despite the bitterness of being sent there in the first place. If it's the same as when I went there, then be happy.
