This is a candle-light meeting of ACA, meaning overhead lights are off and the meeting is lit by a few table lamps and candles with natural day light. Even if your parents weren't alcoholic, family dysfunction can stem from many sources: abuse, neglect, emotional immaturity, instability, mental illness, enmeshment, authoritarianism, financial insecurity, rigid ideology, and more. Whatever the circumstances, if you identify with the effects of growing up in a dysfunctional family, you are welcome here. We welcome participants of all ages, genders, ethnicities, abilities, orientations, religious or belief systems, and backgrounds. Whether you are new to ACA or a long-time member, you are welcome.
